Banish tough stains with 55p product you probably have in cupboard

A parent has issued advice

If you send your kids out looking pristine first thing in the morning, only to receive them at the end of the day looking like they’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards - you’re not alone.

And unfortunately, some of the messes they make can mean they come back with stains all over their top.

Rather than trying to work out what has made the stains (is it spaghetti? Paint? or Play-Doh?) and praying that they come out when you whack the clothes in the wash, parents are swearing by a method that’s easy.

Don't panic, though, that it’s the end of the road for your little one’s favourite jumper; all you need to do is grab the washing-up liquid.

Yep, that’s right, and that’s exactly what mum @sas310812 did when her little one came home with stains all over her Bluey jumper, and she posted how she sorted it out on TikTok.

Now, if you don’t have any washing-up liquid in your house at the moment, you can purchase it from Morrisons for as little as 55p.

But if you’ve got it, and you’re ready to work miracles on your kid's clothes - and this works for yours too, of course - then squirt the washing-up liquid all over the impacted area.

First, you should slightly wet the garment where the stain is, and then squirt on some washing-up liquid.

“Rub the soap into the item of clothing,” until a lather is created, and you can almost see the stain lift before your very eyes.

But if not, don’t panic, as you’re going to wash the garment in the washing machine anyway, so the final results won’t be seen until you’ve done that.

Once you’ve rubbed the soap in and you’re happy that it’s covered the stain, you just need to pop it on a “normal wash” as though the garment had nothing wrong with it.

When Sas pulled the jumper out of the wash, she reported that “all stains have disappeared”.

“I’m one happy mummy again,” she shared, urging other parents to try the same hack if something similar happened to them.

Have you ever tried this washing hack? Let us know in the comments…
