Avowed early access release date, time and how to play the game five days early | Gaming | Entertainment

One of this year's big Microsoft-published games is about to make its debut on Xbox Series X and Series S.

Action role-playing game Avowed doesn't officially launch until February 18, although Premium Edition owners can play the game early.

If you've pre-ordered the Avowed Premium Edition, then you can start playing the game on February 13.

The Avowed Premium Edition early access period has a 6pm GMT UK release time for fans playing in the UK.

The news was announced by developer Obsidian on X: "Can't wait to explore the Living Lands? Get ready for early access, available to Avowed Premium Edition players starting February 13 at 10am PST."

In addition to early access, Premium Edition owners will also receive two exclusive skin packs.

This includes the Eora Collection and the Obsidian Collection for your companions. That's on top of the digital artbook and soundtrack.

If you want to purchase the Premium Edition, then you can pre-order the game from the Xbox Store for £89.99.

It's much cheaper over on Steam, where Avowed Premium Edition is available for just £79.99.

Of course, if you're willing to wait until February 18, Avowed is actually available as a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass.

If you haven't been paying attention, Avowed is a role-playing game from the team behind Fallout New Vegas and The Outer Worlds.

It takes place in the Living Lands, which is described as a "mysterious island filled with adventure and danger". It's the same world as fellow Obsidian developed game Pillars of Eternity.

Obsidian explains more: "You are the envoy of Aedyr, a distant land, sent to investigate rumours of a spreading plague throughout the Living Lands - an island full of mysteries and secrets, danger and adventure, and choices and consequences, and untamed wilderness.

"You discover a personal connection to the Living Lands and an ancient secret that threatens to destroy everything. Can you save this unknown frontier and your soul from the forces threatening to tear them asunder?"
