Bloodborne set for PlayStation State of Play event and this proves it | Gaming | Entertainment

Running for a whopping 40+ minutes, Sony's imminent PlayStation State of Play event is bound to feature a surprise or two for PS5 fans.

While we can be pretty sure that games like Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2 will make an appearance, it's the unexpected PlayStation announcements that will really get tongues wagging when it's all said and done.

Needless to say, a new State of Play event means more Bloodborne rumours, although this time there's much more evidence to suggest Sony has something big planned for fans of the FromSoftware masterpiece.

For starters, Sony has been busy taking down unofficial Bloodborne projects made by fans.

The PSOne-style Bloodborne "demake" was recently hit with a copyright claim, while the fan-made 60 frames-per-second mod was also taken down by Sony.

Some fans believe Sony may be working on its own Bloodborne project, which is why the unofficial projects are being targeted.

If you want even more proof that a Bloodborne remake or remaster could be in the works, then simply take a look at the calendar.

Released on March 27, 2015 (in the UK), the original Bloodborne is about to celebrate its ten year anniversary.

If Sony was going to revisit the game, then now would be the perfect time. And the State of Play event would be the perfect place to make the announcement.

The PlayStation State of Play presentation takes place at 10pm GMT UK time on the evening of February 12.

The news was announced by Sony, alongside a warning for people planning to stream or capture the event.

"State of Play is back tomorrow, February 12!" reads the Sony statement. "Tune in live for news and updates on great games coming to PS5.

"The show celebrates a creative and unique selection of exciting games from studios around the world."

Sony also recommends omitting any copyrighted music from video recaps and streams.

In addition to a potential Bloodborne announcement, Sony is expected to reveal the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater release date, unveil a new PS5 bundle and show a new trailer for Lost Soul Aside.
