How to remove grease from oven racks fast without scrubbing or soaking

Grease, food particles, and baked-on gunk can make your oven racks look unsightly and even make your food taste bad.

Many great oven cleaning products are specialised for the task, however, they are full of harsh chemicals.

Instead, there is a “powerful” product that a cleaning expert behind the Instagram page @thecleangroup claims is a “kitchen hero”.

In their cleaning video, they claimed that this one product would “melt burnt-on oven rack grease” with “absolutely no scrubbing and no soaking”.

They claimed that Skip The Soak from Fairy will make your oven racks “look brand new” if their method is followed.

For this hack, start by fully covering the dirty oven racks in foil before placing them in the oven at low heat for 10 to 15 minutes.

Placing the racks in the oven will “soften all the burnt-on gunk”, making it a “dream to remove”.

Next, open the foil and spray a generous amount of the Skip The Soak from Fairy.

After, fully close the foil and leave it to sit for 10 minutes. Once the time is up, remove the foil and wipe the racks down with a damp sponge.

In the video, the grease was wiped off with ease after this method without any force whatsoever.

Users in the comments section were impressed by these cleaning tips, but some had other over-rack cleaning suggestions.

@nicola.white.5458 said: “Use dishwasher tablets. Put them in the sink and it [the grease] literally dissolves.”

@sarahsh35 wrote: “Dishwasher tablets work similarly to this and you don’t need to turn on your oven for it.”

One user suggested a peculiar solution that still requires a small deal of scrubbing. @whittaker1939 said: “Throw them onto the lawn overnight. Better if the grass is a little long. You may need to turn them over and a little scrub but in reality, I find all these methods do.”

While grass has some abrasive properties that can help loosen dirt and food residue from the oven racks, it isn’t specifically something designed for cleaning and there's no actual guarantee that it will effectively remove more stubborn grime and grease.
