I revived my drooping peace lily and got it healthy again by doing one simple taskOver the Christmas holidays I left my home for only a couple of days to celebrate with family and when I returned I was shocked to see my peace lily dying. I had made sure to water it before I left and all my other houseplants were fine, so I was perplexed to see it wilting so quickly. The plant was being watered enough, had enough sunlight and I knew how to fertilise it, but after doing a few hours of research online I discovered that I had placed it in the worst spot in my house. I had accidentally placed my peace lily right up against a window near a radiator while taking care of my other houseplants before going away, which had exposed it to cold and dry conditions. Peace lilies are topical plants and in their natural environment thrive at the bottom of rainforest floors, which means they survive in a low light, warm and humid environment. Being near a radiator had caused the peace lily to dry out rapidly while being pressed against the cold window glass had caused it to develop temperature shock. I knew my peace lily was in bad shape but I was fairly confident I could save it as they are very dramatic plants which will go limp even if you are only one day late watering it. If your peace lily has wilted then my best piece of advice is to be patient and keep tending to it as they are incredibly hardy and will likely bounce back on their own. To revive my peace lily, I first gave it a thorough watering to rehydrate it. I only watered the soil and was careful not to get any water on the drooping leaves. I then moved into my bathroom as the shower will create a humid and warm environment for the peace lily to hopefully get it healthy again. You could also place a peace lily in a kitchen for the same results as the steam from cooking can also help naturally hydrate it. When I moved my peace lily I made sure it was near a window but not directly placed at the window still as they tend to do best when kept out of direct sunlight. Peace lilies still need light, but too much of the sun can burn their leaves and damage them so it is better to place them a little further from the window. I then watered it once a week and after one month, I am pleased to see my peace lily is now standing upright again. Simply moving the plant somewhere more agreeable and not giving up on it helped not only revive but it has also grown more beautiful flowers in just a few weeks.
