Emma Raducanu discovers draw in first tournament since splitting from tennis coach | Tennis | SportEmma Raducanu has discovered her draw at the upcoming Singapore Tennis Open. The WTA 250 tournament will be the Brit's first since she parted ways with Nick Cavaday, her coach of more than a year. Cavaday stepped away for health reasons and Raducanu is now assessing her options. In the meantime, the 22-year-old is set to compete in Singapore, where she is the No. 7 seed. Raducanu has drawn Cristina Bucsa in the first round. The Spaniard is currently ranked outside of the world's top 100 in singles but she's the No. 21 in doubles. Raducanu has never faced Bucsa on the pro circuit. If she wins her opening match, Raducanu is guaranteed to face a qualifier in the second round. The British No. 2 is in the same section of the draw as top seed Anna Kalinskaya, who could be a potential quarter-final opponent. It will be Raducanu's first appearance since she crashed out of the Australian Open, and since she ended her partnership with Cavaday. The British coach worked with Raducanu for 14 months but, on Friday, it was confirmed they had parted ways so Cavaday could spend time at home to recover from a health condition. "I am very happy to have been able to work with Emma over the last 14 months," Cavaday said. "At this moment in time, it’s important for me to spend some more time at home and prioritise getting back to full health which is hard to do with the extensive calendar." Cavaday first worked with Raducanu during her childhood days in Bromley. He was her longest-serving coach on the professional tour. Raducanu is still working with Yutaka Nakamura, the fitness trainer she hired in the off-season, but is taking time to consider her options before appointing a new coach. Since her breakout appearance at Wimbledon in 2021, Raducanu has worked with six mentors - Nigel Sears, Andrew Richardson, Torben Beltz, Dmitry Tursunov, Sebastian Sachs and Cavaday. Raducanu has also worked with LTA coaches and had help from Jane O'Donoghue, who has been something of a confidant for the world No. 61. The Brit will have to put her coaching situation aside and focus on the task ahead in Singapore, where she will be hoping to build on her third-round run at the Australian Open.
