British backpacker outraged when she discovers what thief has stolen

A British backapacker has shared her outrage on TikTok after falling victim to theft whilst travelling Australia.

Gabby Morgan, who is currently adventuring down under, was stunned when she discovered that thieves had pilfered some of her private belongings from a campsite as she slept in Darwin. "I'm absolutely fuming," she exclaimed in her video diary.

"This is what it's like in Darwin - we're staying in FreeSpirit [resort and holiday park] on the campsite and you'd think your stuff would be safe." Unfortunately for Gabby, this wasn't the case, however.

"We've woken up and someone has stolen our whole fridge," she revealed. The fridge, brimming with food and booze, represented a loss of around $400 (£201 approx.). But the audacity of the crook didn't end there.

A flabbergasted Gabby disclosed: "Not only that - you can't even leave your washing on the line because they've stolen all my knickers." Showcasing where her underwear had vanished from, she highlighted that bizarrely, nothing else was taken. "Just the knickers - nothing else," she bemoaned the inexplicable act.

Her frustration was palpable as she spoke of the hardship backpackers face: "Being a backpacker we work our a***s off to earn these things for travelling just for someone to go and steal all our stuff. What is the purpose in it? I don't understand."

Many Australians chimed in on the footage, asserting that such occurrences aren't rare in the locale. "After living in Darwin for 30 years the best thing I ever did was leave," remarked one individual.

Another chimed in: "Sounds normal for Darwin. All Aussies know this but sadly the backpackers don't. There are certain spots I'd stay away from if I was traveling to Australia." An apologetic third contributed: "Darwin local here, I'm so sorry this happened to you! Embarrassed to live here some days."

Meanwhile, a fourth TikTok user shared their own tale: "I’ve stayed at that park. No matter your location in Australia you have to put away everything. Especially at night because it will be taken. Sorry this happened."

Others sought to inject some humour into the situation, including one who joked: "You were obviously visited by an alcoholic perv! Or an alcoholic knickerless woman." A second reminisced: "I remember when I lived there someone stole one of my running shoes from the front of my house. Not both, just took one, like great now neither of us can use them! ".

And additionally, a third issued an added caution: "If you think Darwin is bad, don't go to Alice Springs!"
