M&S best-selling lamp is on sale for under £45

Marks and Spencer's biggest sale event of the year, the January sales, are in full swing, with discounts on everything from clothing and beauty to homeware. And part of that sale is a trending lamp that has added a special touch to my bedside tables. While scanning the latest deals on offer, I noticed the lamp I bought (for full price) in June was discounted as part of the sale.

Right now, you can snap up the Kirsten Ceramic Table Lamp for just £44.55.

It's a modest discount of just 10%, but the savings are fantastic when you think about how popular this lamp has been. The Kirsten Ceramic Table Lamp has been a best-seller for M&S this year, so the discount is well worth snapping up before it sells out (again).

I first spotted it splashed across social media during the summer as the checked pattern trend emerged, popping up on cushions, vases and, of course, lamps. As we live in a new build, I'm always looking for furniture and accessories that can add some character to our space and the Kristen Table Lamp does just that.

The small lamp is ideal for bedside tables and adds a cottage-core element to our home thanks to the cute vintage-inspired scallop-edged lampshade and checked design. Given that our bedroom is accented with earthy neutral tones, we opted for dark green. The lamp also comes in blue, however, at the time of writing, it's sold out, along with the matching vase.

The price tag is also an affordable option compared with other similar lamps available. John Lewis lamps such as the Evie Table Lamp (£75) and Burano Striped Ceramic Table Lamp (£65) offer a similar aesthetic but they come at a considerably higher cost than M&S' Kristen lamp.

Shoppers who bought the vase during the M&S sale event have described it as an "absolute bargain", with one person leaving a review saying: "Great Price. Lovely little lap, right on trend. Bought in the sale and an absolute bargain." [SIC]

Others complimented the quality, which I can attest to. One review said: "Good quality as always. So beautiful. [It's] worth the money, you can tell from the details." [SIC]

In my opinion, the quality of the lamp means it looks more expensive than it actually is.

Though I have no qualms with the lamp and love my purchase, some shoppers on the M&S website have noted they think the cord is too short. One review noted: "[The] cord is a little short compared to other table lamps I have." [SIC]
