Tell us: are you affected by UK government decision not to compensate ‘Waspi women’? | Pensions

Are you affected by Labour’s decision not to compensate women who lost out on pensions because the government failed to notify them of changes to the rules?

Campaigners for ‘Waspi women’ (Women Against State Pension Inequality) say as many as 3.8 million women born in the 1950s were left with their retirement plans in ruin after the DWP failed to notify them that the state pension age was increasing from 60 to 66. Some say they received only 12 months’ notice of a six-year delay to their pension.

In opposition, Labour had promised to compensate women up to £2,950 each. But now they say compensation would not be a fair or proportionate use of taxpayers’ money.

We want to hear from women born in the 1950s who have been affected by this decision.
