Air Fryer pigs in blankets recipe is 'quick' and 'delicious' to make

Making these pigs in blankets in an air fryer is such a quick, simple, and delicious way to prepare this classic festive food appetizer or side dish.

This food recipe comes from Clare Andrews and her new book The Ultimate Air Fryer Cookbook: One Basket Meals is available now.

According to Andrews' website: "Christmas dinner would not be complete without pigs in blankets. To make these air fryer pigs in blankets you need only minimal ingredients. And they are ready in just 20 minutes thanks to the speed of the air fryer.

"Using the air fryer makes this one of the easiest starters or side dishes to prepare for your Christmas dinner. They are easy enough to make in the oven but oven space can be really limited when cooking a large family roast dinner so use your air fryer.

"But pigs in blankets are way too delicious to be made only at Christmas to go with your roast turkey. Why not try making them as a tasty party snack? Or with your Sunday roast chicken or pork to make your lunch even more special all year round.

The pigs in blankets recipe only takes five minutes to prepare and 15 minutes to cook. It serves four people as a side dish and all you need is an air fryer, a mixing bowl and a brush.

How to make air fryer pigs in blankets:

Ingredients:

  • Eight rashers of streaky bacon
  • Eight chipolata sausages
  • One tablespoon of runny honey
  • One heaped teaspoon of Dijon mustard
  • Cooking spray

Method:

Firstly, start by wrapping each of your chipolata sausages in a rasher of streaky bacon. Start at one end and roll so they are neatly all covered.

Then mix into a bowl the runny honey and Dijon mustard to make a glaze. Next brush the glaze over each one, so they are each covered in the honey and mustard mix.

Cook your sausages at 180C for about 15 to 20 minutes. Turn them over halfway through cooking so they are crispy all over.

Make sure the sausages are cooked throughout before serving. If using smaller sausages, they will probably take less time to cook. When turning halfway, if you have some glaze left, brush the rest over the sausages too.
