Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could face huge problem with Montecito home | Royal | NewsPrince Harry and Meghan Markle had a complete lifestyle change in 2020 as the married couple decided to switch Palace walls for a Californian mansion. After declaring their desire to become financially independent and step down as senior royals, the couple moved across the pond back to Meghan’s home country. While they did not have a permanent home at first, the couple eventually set their eyes on a sprawling home in Montecito, believed to have set them back around £14 million according to Hello!. Since then, both Harry and Meghan have spoken fondly about the property and their new lifestyles, which they share with their five-year-old son Archie and their daughter Princess Lilibet, three, and it seems they have no ambition to leave the home anytime soon. This could be a good idea for the couple, as according to new figures, both Harry and Meghan could be set to make a financial loss on their property if they were to sell it anytime soon. Real estate company Redfin has revealed that "Montecito home prices were down 14.1 per cent compared to last year," as reported in October 2024 according to Hello! It was also revealed that the median price a Montecito home sold for this year was $5.5 million, significantly lower than what Harry and Meghan brought their nine-bed mansion for. While this could change in the years to come, it seems unlikely that the couple will consider relocating anytime soon. According to Hello!, the mansion has everything they could ever dream of, including a huge sprawling garden and swimming pool, with the property and its land tucked away behind large security gates. The couple also have their own chicken coup and pool house. Little has been revealed about the inside of the home, however Meghan once said the property brought her “joy”. The home also featured on the couple’s docuseries Harry and Meghan, which was released on Netflix two years ago. In an interview with The Cut in 2022, Meghan revealed: “We did everything we could to get this house. It’s healing. You feel free.” The couple have reportedly set down firm roots in the area, with Archie now attending a local Montecito school. Source link Posted: 2024-12-13 20:10:12 |
