The clever home stylist said: "Look, Christmas is expensive enough. Let me show you the easiest way to get a fuller tree without having to buy a really expensive one."

While demonstrating the technique, she said:"It's just tinsel, but specifically tinsel that's the same colour as your tree because we are not trying to draw attention to it but blent it.

"So, instead of wrapping it around the tree like you normally would, you are going to go back and forth horizontally filling in any gaps and covering any empty spaces.

"Going back and forth instead of around the tree means you have enough at the front, and it doesn't get tangled when you take it down later.
