England player ratings vs Japan as trio get 5/10 despite thumping win | Rugby | Sport

England got back to winning ways and alleviated some pressure on under-fire head coach Steve Borthwick by scoring nine tries to thrash Eddie Jones' Japan 59-14 at Twickenham on Sunday evening.

England snapped a five-match losing streak in the process as they ended the Autumn Nations Series on more of a positive note after losing to New Zealand, Australia and South Africa before this.

They started strong and scored five first-half tries through Ben Earl, Sam Underhill, a Jamie George double and Ollie Sleightholme.

While Japan scrum-half Naoto Saito pulled one back for Japan, a George Furbank try helped restore a healthy advantage thanks to a brilliant offload from Tommy Freeman.

Hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie, who replaced captain George at half-time, then scored two second-half tries before Tom Roebuck capped off the rout.
