Conor McGregor rape accuser had 'intense' levels of bruising paramedic | UFC | Sport

A woman accusing UFC superstar Conor McGregor of sexual assault had 'intense' levels of bruising, a paramedic testified in court on Tuesday. McGregor and James Lawrence are facing a civil lawsuit from Nikita Hand over an alleged incident in 2018.

The woman alleges she was sexually assaulted and raped by the two men, who both deny all wrongdoing. Ms Hand alleges she feared for her life during the incident and thought she would never see her daughter again.

The incident allegedly occurred at a Dublin hotel back in December 2018. Last week, the jury heard Ms Hand's accusation that McGregor had choked her three times before vaginally raping her.

She went to visit a rape crisis center the next day due to a concern over a tampon which had become stuck inside her.

Advanced paramedic Eithne Scully gave evidence on Tuesday and confirmed she had visited Ms Hand at a house on December 10, and had observed a cut on her chin and some bruising around her lower neck, her chest, legs, buttocks, thighs and lower leg.

She told the jury: "I haven’t seen someone so bruised, with that intensity of bruising."

Scully, her colleague Neil Dempsey and Ms Hand went into an ambulance with a member of Gardai [Irish police], and Scully asked to remove Ms Hand's pyjama bottoms in order to examine the bruises.

Dempsey told the jury he observed Ms Hand's injuries and saw the marks on her neck. The decision was then made to transport Ms Hand to a rape crisis unit, and the alleged victim had a panic attack on the way.

McGregor and Lawrence continue to deny the allegations, which are being heard in a civil court after the Dublin Prosecutors Office declined to prosecute the case.

The case continues.
