Richard & Judy's quiet life in idyllic seaside village where homes fetch £700k

Richard Madeley, 68, and Judy Finnigan, 76, are a husband and wife duo known for being the original presenters of ITV's This Morning.

Later, they presented the Channel 4 chat show Richard & Judy, which originally aired from 2001 to 2008.

They also co-wrote the autobiography Richard and Judy: The Autobiography, which was published in 2002.

Separately, the couple has pursued their own projects with Judy becoming a Sunday Times bestseller with her novel Eloise, and Richard presenting ITV's Good Morning Britain.

The couple first met in 1982 when they were working for Granada TV. Both of them were married to other people at the time.

Richard and Judy later married in Manchester in 1986 and have two children together, Jack and Chloe. Richard is also stepfather to twins from Judy's first marriage

Away from the screen, the couple enjoy a quiet life in the idyllic village of Polperro in Cornwall.

The couple went on holiday for a week to Cornwall and stayed in a cottage between Looe and Polperro before they got married and now have a home near Talland Bay, near Polperro.

Judy wrote in Coast Magazine last year: "We live at Talland Bay, near Polperro, that is where we call home. We are here most of the time and Richard likes to walk over the cliff path to Polperro every day.

"It is a great walk and you get to meet and know local people who have mostly accepted us as their own now."

Polperro is a fishing village located on Cornwall's south coast that is bursting with charm. From the harbour, visitors can enjoy stunning views of the sea and the cottages nestled into the lush green hillside.

The large village is famous for its history of smuggling which took place during the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as the South West Coast Path which passes straight through the village.

From Polperro, visitors can walk along the coast path towards Looe and reach the peaceful Talland Bay.

There are two coves at Talland Bay which are separated forming two beaches Talland Sands and Rotterdam Beach. Both beaches offer a chance to explore rock pools when the tide is out and a swim in the bay's crystal clear waters.

There are lots of different property types in Polperro including cottages - some of which are Grade II-listed - terraced houses, detached houses and semi-detached houses and flats.

However, buying a property in the village does not come cheap, according to figures from Rightmove.

Properties in Polperro had an overall average price of £704,300 over the last year.

The majority of sales in Polperro during the last year were detached properties, selling for an average price of £1,003,333. Semi-detached properties sold for an average of £250,000, with terraced properties fetching £261,500.
