Red Dead Redemption PC release date, time, new features and PC requirements | Gaming | Entertainment

PC gamers are counting down to the release of Red Dead Redemption on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

After making fans wait for 14 years, Rockstar Games will finally bring Red Dead Redemption to PC later this week.

Developed by Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption originally launched back in 2010, but only for Xbox 360 and PS3. Nintendo Switch and PS4 versions would release in 2023.

Boasting a number of upgrades and improvements, the PC version of Red Dead Redemption has an October 29 release date on Steam and Epic.

According to the countdown timer on Steam, the PC port will be available to play from 2pm GMT UK time.

Similar to the Switch and PS4 ports, the PC version will contain single-player campaigns for Red Dead Redemption and the Undead Nightmares expansion.

It will also contain some nifty PC-specific features, such as native 4K resolution with a frame-rate of up to 144hz.

That's on top of Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9) support, as well as HDR10 compatibility, plus keyboard and mouse controls.

Elsewhere, the PC version will support NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 upscaling technology, not to mention NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings, and lots more.

The game will be available for £39.99 on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Fans can pre-order the game now.

Sadly, there's currently no word on whether Red Dead Redemption is compatible with Steam Deck. Other Rockstar releases are compatible with the handheld and there is a Switch version, so hopefully it will be playable without much fuss.
