Urgent food warning as TK Maxx customers told 'do not eat' popular snack

TK Maxx and Homesense have issued an urgent food recall to shoppers who have purchased granola bars in the past few months.

The retailers are recalling the Chocolate Chip Oatrageous Chewy Granola Bars and Variety Pack Oatrageous Chewy Granola Bars because they contain milk that is not mentioned on the label.

According to the Food Standards Agency, this means the products may pose a health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or its constituents.

A statement in TK Maxx's food safety notice claimed that the affected products were sold in TK Maxx and Homesense stores between August 2024 and October 2024.

The product code shown on the price sticker and the receipt should indicate whether customers have purchased a recalled batch of the granola bars.

The Food Standards Agency has advised shoppers who have bought the above products and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents to leave the granola bars unopened, urging "do not eat them".

Tk Maxx also warned: "If you purchased the product and are allergic to milk, please stop using it immediately and return to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund."

Customers can return the bars to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund. For further information, the best point of contact is the Tk Maxx/HomeSense Customer Services phone line at 01923 473561 or email customerservice@tjxeurope.com.
