Your Sky box gets updated today with 13 TV channel changes confirmedThere's some important news for anyone with a Sky box in their living room. The satellite TV firm has confirmed that it's making some big changes to the TV planner with the update taking place today. A total of 13 channels are being switched around in a bid to tidy things up with services such as Animal Planet, PBS America and Disc. History leaving their current slot and moving to somewhere new. The update, which was confirmed on Sky's community pages, is set for today, October 9, and should happen automatically so there's no need to start digging into the settings. Here are all the channels that are changing and where their new positions will be on the planner. • PBS America moves from 174 to 173 on satellite only (Sky Glass and Stream not affected) • Disc.History moves from 177 to 174 on satellite only • Animal Planet moves from 178 to 175 in NI and in ROI on satellite only • Court TV moves from 179 to 176 on satellite only • Channel 7 moves from 181 to 177 on satellite only • Travel XP moves from 182 to 178 on satellite only • Ayozat TV moves from 186 to 179 on satellite only • BBC Scotland HD (ex Scot) moves from 187 to 180 on satellite only • That's TV 2 moves from 188 to 181 on satellite only • Rewind TV moves from 190 to 182 on satellite only • That's TV 3 moves from 191 to 183 on satellite only • Disc.History+1 moves from 277 to 274 on satellite only • Animal Plnt+1 (NI / ROI) moves from 278 to 275 on satellite only Recordings should also be unaffected but if you have a show you're desperate not to miss it might be worth checking that its series link hasn't been turned off by mistake. The update also only affects Sky Q and Sky HD boxes so if you have the latest Sky Stream or Sky Glass TV in your home you don't need to worry. News of this channel update comes weeks after Sky confirmed that the popular UKTV service - now named U - finally launched its app on some devices. Once U is launched, Sky users will find endless on-demand episodes of top-rated shows such as Gavin and Stacey, Top Gear, Have I Got News For You, Masterchef and Would I Lie To You. "The U app, formerly UKTV, is launching on both Sky Glass and Stream," Sky explained in an update. "It's free to use and features thousands of hours of entertainment from TV channels U&Dave, U&Drama, U&W and U&Yesterday." U will appear in the app section on Sky Glass TVs and Sky Stream boxes (there's no word yet on a Sky Q unveiling but we will keep you posted). Source link Posted: 2024-10-09 07:40:31 |
