Samsung Galaxy S24 phones now hundreds cheaper in Prime Day saleAmazon doesn't seem to want to stop cutting prices, returning with another Prime Big Deal Day sales event. There's plenty of tech that's been discounted too, but it is the deals on ever-popular Samsung phones that caught my eye. The Samsung Galaxy S24 family of phones launched earlier in 2024 and the big surprise is that the regular phone isn't discounted - but the bigger phones - the ones you really want - are. That sees hundreds slashed off the price of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, one of the best phones of the year - we gave it five stars in our review. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is the most powerful Samsung phone, it has a glorious 6.8-inch display and on the back there's a comprehensive camera system, with a 200-megapixel main camera. The experience is enhanced with Galaxy AI, letting you make really clever edits to your photos, while it also offers the S Pen for note taking or doodling on your device. The Galaxy S24 Ultra normally costs £1,349 with 512GB storage, but the price is down to £1,049 on Amazon - that beat's Samsung's own discounts by £150. The Ultra isn't the only discounted Samsung phone in the Prime Day sales, as the Galaxy S24+ has also been reduced. This model gives you the size - it has a 6.7-inch display - but doesn't have all the features that the Ultra offers. Most notably, it steps down in the camera, but it's still a great device - and it's cheaper too. You can snap up the Samsung Galaxy S24+ for £749 on Amazon, that's a saving of £150 over Samsung's price. This is for the 256GB model, so there's still plenty of storage for all your photos. If you were looking for a deal on normal Galaxy S24, you can get one for £699 on Amazon, saving £100, but this isn’t a Prime discount, it's a regular sale. Still, it will save you £100 off the retail price - but you're not saving as much as you do on the other models. All these phones offer a great experience, boosted by the fact that Samsung offers 7 years of software updates for them. That means they will be supported well into the future, so you'll know that your phone has the latest security updates, as well as the hottest new features. Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days is only running for two days across 8-9 October, so if you want to grab a new Samsung phone at a discounted price you'll have to move fast. Of course, Black Friday is just around the corner which will likely bring back these deals - but I suspect that as soon as Big Deal Days finishes, prices will go back up. Prime Big Deal Days are exclusive to Prime members, so you'll have to be a subscriber to Amazon's Prime service. This gives you free delivery on many orders, you get access to Prime Video, as well as a range of other benefits. It normally costs £8.99 a month, but fortunately, there's also a 30-day trial so you can test it out. Although, Amazon's sale isn't the only place to currently bag a discount. In fact, Samsung's own site is running a £100 to £490 trade-in offer on its S24 range - which may convince eager shoppers to switch from Amazon. The Prime retailer doesn't currently offer trade-in price cuts for anyone with an older phone to hand in as they buy, a downside we have spotted. Source link Posted: 2024-10-08 16:25:35 |
