A TikTok car whizz issued a stern warning to drivers who love pushing buttons in their vehicles without consulting the manual, urgently cautioning it's so dangeous it could cause unsuspected chaos if pressed inadvertently.

The car guru, known as @carknowledge_ on TikTok, is well-versed in dispensing nifty car tips and tricks, such as clearing your windscreen with finesse or unveiling hidden features within your motor that you were blissfully unaware of.

Yet, the latest video comes with a perilous premonition as he alerted motorists: "99% of drivers ignore this dangerous button in the car".

He then revealed which button spells potential disaster and explains why it should remain untouched.

"The button I'm talking about is this 'off' which is the vehicle body stabilisation system, also known as the vehicle anti-skid system," he indicated, gesturing towards the button.

The expert elaborated that normally this system is "enabled by default", asserting that drivers "must not touch it", because hitting it will disable the safety feature.

Also the absence of the control, according to his advice, leaves the car susceptible to skidding during abrupt swerves or sudden accelerations, with extreme cases potentially leading to the car overturning.

KBB specialists concur that though traction control can be deactivated, doing so is seldom necessary. They elaborated: "You can turn off the safety feature, though it's rare you'll need to.

"But traction control must remain activated in driving instances like heavy rain, snow, or icy conditions."

Also they cautioned: "Traction control can be the difference between staying on the road and crashing your car due to skidding, including when the roads are wet or icy."

They advise leaving it on "most of the time" for added reassurance, even in seemingly safe conditions.
