What Ally McCoist said to Prince William after being teased over his suit | Football | SportAlly McCoist couldn't contain his excitement as he recounted a bit of friendly teasing over his suit before his OBE ceremony with Prince William. The football legend and broadcaster received his accolade today at Windsor Castle from the Prince himself for his contributions to sports and broadcasting. Beaming with joy, McCoist reminisced about their amicable chat concerning football, his career in broadcasting, and family matters. Having previously met, McCoist found their conversation comfortable and far from uneasy, even discussing the Prince's support for Aston Villa ahead of their big Champions League clash with Bayern Munich. McCoist shared: "I think the fact that we had met before and chatted before was a good degree of comfort. It was great, it was special. You sometimes worry will there be things to say, will there be things to talk about, but he puts everybody at ease. I really enjoyed the couple of minutes' conversation we had." He added: "I'm obviously well aware that the Prince is an Aston Villa fan - they've got a very, very big game tonight, which I think he's going to. So we spoke about that, and just generally working in broadcasting and life, really." In an interview with the Scottish Sun, McCoist mentioned that his sons had teased him about his suit prior to visiting the castle, saying: "The lads were having a little bit of fun at my expense, saying the suits I used to wear were a little bit tighter on me than they are now! I had to get one organised for today and I managed to do that, thankfully." McCoist went on to describe his conversation with the Prince of Wales: "I was really lucky because the one thing the Prince of Wales is well-versed in is he knows his sport, and certainly his football. I had met him before on a flight to Aberdeen." Their conversation included discussing the Prince's favourite team, Aston Villa, who had a big game that night, as well as inquiring about McCoist's family and how his sons were doing, making for a pleasant chat.
