Robert Pattinson dies for a living in Bong Joon-ho's comedy Mickey 17 trailer | Films | Entertainment

It’s been five years since South Korean director Bong Joon-ho swept the Oscars with his Best Picture winner Parasite.

Now he’s back with his latest movie Mickey 17, a sci-fi black comedy written and directed by the filmmaker based on Edward Ashton’s 2022 novel Mickey7.

The Batman’s Robert Pattinson stars as the unlikely hero Mickey Barnes who signs up to be an “expendable”; a disposable employee who dies for a living and is cloned with most of his memories left intact.

However, when one of his multiples Mickey 17 unintentionally survives an expedition to colonise an ice planet, he goes head-to-head with his new clone Mickey 18.

The upcoming film co-stars Naomi Ackie, Seven Yeun, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo.

Mickey 17 his UK cinemas on January 31, 2025
