Prince George's new hobby revealed - and it's very daring for an 11-year-old | Royal | NewsPrince George is already "learning to fly" as the second in line to the throne was spotted enjoying his maiden flight last week in front of proud parents the Prince and Princess of Wales. The Waleses were spotted at White Waltham Airfield on the last day of George's school holidays, reportedly turning up in a three-car convoy. The Berkshire airfield is only a 20-minute drive from their home in Windsor and it's also where George's great-grandfather, Prince Philip, trained to fly in the 1950s. According to the Sun, onlookers said the young prince, 11, flew with an instructor and "loved" the experience. One of them told the outlet of the youngster's daring new hobby, saying: "George is only 11 years old but it is the right time to start. "The Royal Family has a proud tradition of flying and it looks like George is next in line. "His parents watched George take flight from the safety of the ground but he flew with an instructor and loved it." The trio were also spotted relaxing at the airfield’s clubhouse, home to the West London Aero Club. Another onlooker said: "There were probably 30 or 40 people in the clubhouse. Catherine and William watched George take off." They added: But they were relaxed about it. All three of them had been pretty chilled in the clubhouse." It comes as George's father, the Prince of Wales revealed earlier this week that he would love to fly again. During a visit at the Wales Air Ambulance headquarters in South Wales on Tuesday, William said: "I can't stop talking about helicopters and medical kits and all sorts. I'm sorry I take ages waffling about it. I miss it all. I'm quite keen to stay a bit longer." Speaking of his future plans, he added: "I'm thinking I might come back for a weekend at some point. I saw the Cardiff team a while ago and said to them I'll come back and join them." Source link Posted: 2024-09-13 07:39:51 |
