Donald Trump 'shouts' at Joe Biden in fiery clash at Ground Zero | US | NewsA tense-looking Donald Trump was pictured speaking with current US President Joe Biden as the two marked the 23rd anniversary of 9/11 together. The ceremony marked one of the few times the former president and current president have been in the same space - and the first since the dismal TV debate in June which ended President Biden's re-election bid. Matt Viser, from the Washington Post, shared a photograph of the moment, adding: "President Biden arrives at Ground Zero, seeming to approach and exchange words with Donald Trump." While it's unclear what words were exchanged between the two former rivals, it appeared as if former president Trump was shouting, with his mouth wide open. Users on X, formerly known as Twitter, remarked that Mr Trump looked as if he was "being nasty" to the US leader. @combienDUtemps tweeted: "Trump looks like he's being nasty in this photo. Perhaps the President asked him if he had a good time last night?" @MicheleCochrane added: "Trump still looks like he’s whining like a child." In footage shared on social media, the New York crowd can be heard chanting: "Donald, Donald, we love you Donald! We need you!" The former president can be seen smiling and acknowledging the chant. The solemn Ground Zero memorial also brought Mr Trump together with his presidential opponent Kamala Harris, just hours after their fierce TV debate last night. The heated debate in Philadelphia was the first time the pair had met, with Ms Harris greeting her rival with an awkward handshake. The two exchanged words and appeared cordial as they met for the second time in 24 hours. President Biden, Vice President Harris, former president Trump, and his running mate Senator JD Vance were in the front row of the memorial service. Former New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg was in between President Biden and former president Trump, with many remarking that he acted "as a buffer" between the two. New York Senator Chuck Schumer was also seen alongside Vice President Harris. Ground Zero is the site where the Twin Towers fell on September 11 2001 during the infamous terrorist attack which killed 2,977 people. President Biden, VP Harris and former president Trump will all attend another 9/11 ceremony at the Flight 93 National Memorial near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Mr Biden and Ms Harris will go on to attend a third ceremony at the Pentagon as they pay respects to the victims of the attack. Source link Posted: 2024-09-11 14:57:58 |
