I tried the new M&S chocolate bars and one strange flavour was the unexpected winner

This is the best time of year to be a sweet tooth as there are lots of delicious treats in the stores in autumn, but it can be overwhelming to decide on what chocolate to buy.

Marks and Spencer recently launched a series of new chocolate bars called Choc Marks that are only £3 each.

While the chocolate bars come in the classic dark, white and milk chocolate some more unique flavours seem to be something Willy Wonka would have created.

Some of the chocolate bars have pretzels, shortbread, jelly beans and even fizzing sweets in them so you are bound to find something you enjoy.

I decided to try some of the new chocolate bars available at my local store to see if they were worth buying as a treat, or if the flavours are too bizarre and are better left on the shelf.

This is the chocolate bar I thought I would hate as I am not a fan of penny mix sweets, but I was surprised how much I liked it.

Despite having so many extra flavours it did not feel overwhelming or too much to eat. It has a distinct zesty orange flavour and then a light fizzy sensation which was quickly gone as I washed down with some tea.

Despite it seeming to be a most divisive flavour it is really tasty and very different from other chocolate you may buy in the shops.

If you or a loved one is a big fan of Terry Chocolate oranges then I think this is a chocolate bar worth buying.

I think I will buy this again in the future but I think it is a chocolate bar best bought for sharing as I do not think I could eat a lot of something that fizzy.

Overall I think this may have been my favourite to try as was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did.

As someone who loves shortbread and caramel-flavoured desserts, I thought I would really like this chocolate bar but I personally thought it was a bit of a mixed bag.

I found it quite tough to chew and after eating it I felt like I had just eaten a piece of nougat or toffee with an extremely sweet aftertaste that I could not get rid of despite having a cup of tea next to me.

If you have ever had the Galaxy cookie crumble then it is a little similar to that due to the biscuit texture which I liked but the harder crispy part of the chocolate I did not like.

If you are someone who likes eating Cadbury double-deckers then I think you would like this chocolate bar.

I do not think I will buy this again as overall I did not enjoy the texture and still had the aftertaste in my mouth after trying a piece 30 minutes ago.

I bought one of the more simple flavours just to see what the chocolate tasted like on its own and was glad I did as it was lovely.

The chocolate is smooth, creamy and melted in my mouth right away which made it perfect to eat with a cup of tea.

It did not have an aftertaste and I found it subtly sweet without being overpowering. I ended up eating three pieces of this chocolate bar due to how much I enjoyed it.

If you are unsure of what flavour to buy then I recommend buying one of the plain ones first to try as it goes perfectly with a cup of tea.

I definitely think I would buy this for myself as a treat but I also think it would be perfect to buy a loved one closer to the holidays if you are unsure on what their favourite chocolate is.
