Prince Harry seen for first time since UK visit before Invictus Games | Royal | News

Prince Harry has made a striking return to the public eye with a new video from his Invictus Games charity, following a covert trip to the UK last month for the funeral of his late uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes.

The Duke of Sussex, who stealthily flew back to Britain to attend the service at St Mary's Church in Snettisham, Norfolk, alongside Prince William on August 27, had kept a low profile since. The brothers, it is reported, entered the church discreetly through a rear entrance and did not engage with one another during the visit.

Breaking his public silence this September, Prince Harry featured prominently in a promotional video for the Invictus Games. Released earlier today, the video showcases the Duke narrating over inspiring footage of disabled veterans competing in the event, set to take place in Vancouver, Canada, in February 2025.

In the video, he says: "Sport has the ability to heal, to change lives, and to save lives. For so many of these competitors, getting to the start line has been one of the hardest moments of their life. But at the games, their lives are changed. Watching these magical moments and sports being the facilitator of that is very, very special for all of us to witness."

The release of a video has sparked controversy among the public, with some social media users criticising its timing as it came shortly after Prince William's first appearance since his meeting with his brother in August.

The 42-year-old heir-to-the-throne was spotted at the Saatchi Gallery this afternoon for an innovative exhibition on homelessness, reports the Mirror.

The video emerged just hours after his visit today, provoking one user on X, previously known as Twitter, to label the timing "so not cool". They remarked: "Posted within a couple of hours of Prince William's first royal engagement this fall, so not cool Invictus."

Nonetheless, the video has been met with enthusiasm by others online, with one person commenting: "What a beautiful video! Beautifully stated."

An individual from Canada expressed excitement over next year's Invictus Games being held in Whistler, Vancouver, exclaiming: "Let's goooo Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler."

Another added their voice, saying: "Beautiful, so exciting. Coming closer rapidly now."
