Oasis 2024 concert rumours: Truth confirmed about 'secret show' | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TVLiam Gallagher is due to perform an explosive "mini-show" to introduce Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois' boxing fight later this month at Wembley Arena. Saudi boxing chief His Excellency Turki Alalshikh had earlier revealed that he planned to ask Noel to join his brother at the September 21 show. However, fans who were hoping to catch sight of the pair on stage together on that date - or any other this year - will sadly be in for a disappointment. A representative for Oasis confirmed to Express Online today that there is no truth in the rumours that have been swirling, as Noel has not accepted the offer. In fact, the brothers won't even step foot on stage with each other until 2025. "They won't start rehearsals until next year," the representative confirmed. TalkSport host Simon Jordan had previously revealed that he had asked Noel months ago, but that the brothers had still been feuding at the time. "His reason for not going was because he didn't think it was a good look, if he was in the crowd, Liam was singing and he was wearing earmuffs!" he joked via the TalkSport website. "But now they've all made friends and a big bag of money around the world for them [it could change]. "He loves going [to the big fights], all this hullabaloo for Oasis reforming, they didn't make the same noise for Blur." His words sparked hopes that, following reports that the 15-year long stony silence between the brothers had come to an end, Noel might reconsider. It is believed that the pair need time to "practise" to perfect their famous songs and get used to sharing the stage again for the first time since 2009. Though hopes of an earlier reunion have now been dashed, fans do have a second opportunity to catch Oasis live in 2025, as two new Wembley shows have been announced with a "fairer" ticketing system. Oasis clarified via Twitter: "Tickets [for the new shows] will be sold by a staggered, invitation-only ballot process. "Applications to join the ballot will be opened first to the many UK fans who were unsuccessful in the initial on sale with Ticketmaster. More details to follow.” The two new shows, expected to take place on September 27 and 28, follow a mad scramble last month to secure tickets for their July 2025 shows. Seven million people reportedly tried to get their hands on them, with prices suddenly soaring after waits of up to eight hours in virtual queues - and Oasis said they'd had "no idea" it was happening. However, some are still unhappy, after spending huge amounts in the initial sale, to now find other fans could get a cheap bargain. Source link Posted: 2024-09-06 01:14:27 |
