Remove grease and grime from oven doors in '15 mins' using 1 household stapleFans of cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch have shared their go-to method for cleaning oven glass. Ovens need to be cleaned every three months but they may need to be cleaned more frequently if they are heavily used. Large families who use ovens multiple times a day may need to clean them more often to ensure their food doesn't become tainted and the oven keeps working efficiently. One part of the oven that is particularly prone to dirt and grime is the oven door. Oven glass can become laden with grease and food debris over time. With this in mind, Rebecca Louise posted on the Facebook group, 'Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips': "How can I clean my oven door, please? Thanks." The post was inundated with more than 300 comments from Mrs Hinch fans but the most suggested solution was to use dishwasher tablets. Val Rees said: "I recently took the door off my oven and used dishwasher tablets to clean the glass. Brilliant. Discovered there were three panes of glass but only the top one was dirty. I’ve never taken an oven door off before. Much easier than I anticipated." Jeanette Atkins replied: "I used a dishwasher tablet on mine and it's really great. All the glass is clean." Em Louise commented: "Scrunch up some tin foil and use Pink stuff or a dishwasher tablet. Scrub in circles. Comes up like new." Beverley Pound wrote: "I would remove the glass and soak in either the bath or a large sink with two dissolved cheap dishwasher tablets along with your racks. Works an absolute dream I did mine last week so impressed." Elizabeth Ward said: "Wet a dishwasher tablet and rub over lifts it like magic, was sceptical til I tried it." Margret Pryce posted: "Use a dishwasher tablet on a wet cloth. Scrub in circles, leave for 15 minutes then wipe off." Paula Collindridge suggested: "Cheap dishwasher tablet, dip in warm water and use like a pumice stone. Sounds like it is scratching the glass but [I] promise you it doesn't. The easiest and quickest way I’ve found and quite therapeutic." Dishwasher tablets can be bought from most supermarkets. Morrisons Savers Lemon Dishwasher Tablets cost £1.99 for a pack of 40 which works out at 5p per tablet. Asda All in 1 Dishwasher tablets cost £4 for 40 which works out at 10p per tablet. The enzymes in dishwasher tablets can break down the protein and starch molecules and help lift away grease. On oven glass, dishwasher tablets can break down stubborn grime and food debris. Other suggestions from Mrs Hinch fans included using Cif cream cleaner, Cillit Bang and Pink Stuff paste. Sandra Davies said: "Cif cream cleaner and a scourer." Lesley MacCuish commented: "Pink Stuff paste will take that off no bother at all." Shireen Lee replied: "Cillit Bang and a metal scourer. Brings it up like new."
