Oasis superfan with Liam tattoo and £12k shrine shares reunion outfit | UK | NewsAn Oasis superfan who has a back tattoo of Liam Gallagher and owns £12,000 worth of Oasis memorabilia, eagerly anticipates the Gallagher brothers' reunion tour in 2025. John Smallbones, a 49 year old tradesman from Andover in Hampshire and an ardent Oasis fan, has expressed his excitement over the band's reunion, calling it the "best thing that's happened for a long time". The business owner, who fell in love with Oasis in the early 90s, now runs a company specialising in windows, doors and conservatories named Wall of Glass, after Liam Gallagher's first solo single. He said: "I always thought (a reunion) will happen", adding "I said it will (happen) in 2025 and I thought it's got to be because it's the 30th anniversary," His collection includes a duvet cover featuring Noel and Liam Gallagher's faces, tambourines from the band's 1994 album Definitely Maybe, and framed pictures and canvases of the band throughout his home. In addition to his back tattoo of Liam Gallagher, he also sports several other Oasis-themed tattoos, including the words Definitely Maybe atop maracas and a tambourine on his chest, and album names on his limbs. Mr Smallbones is determined to secure tickets for the reunion tour in 2025, planning to don a Parka jacket, a brown wig and hat - all items associated with the band's iconic style. "I'll get tickets for Wembley Stadium. I wouldn't mind doing two nights there and one in Manchester," he declared. "I will get them. Whether I have to pay for it through eBay, I'll get them. If I pay double, triple, whatever it is, I'll still get them." He already has his outfit for the tour planned, he said: "We're all in our Parkas and hats. I have glasses, wigs, hats, Parkas you name it, I've got it." Of the Gallagher brothers, Mr Smallbones confesses that Liam is his favourite, whom he sees "at least twice a year, every year", but added that seeing them perform together "is the ultimate". He further stated: "I think everyone can relate to their music... and their words and lyrics and how Liam sings them. Even if he's got a tambourine or maracas, he could stand there with a triangle, it just looks good." Like most of the UK this week, Mr Smallbones intends to secure tickets for Oasis's shows. But one Oasis gig isn't eneough for John as he wants to attend both Wembley Stadium in London and at Heaton Park in Manchester. "I just can't wait to go and it will be just as good as it was years ago. It can't come quick enough to be honest next year," he expressed. Source link Posted: 2024-08-29 01:23:19 |
