The bizarre moment Meghan Markle’s sister turned up at Kensington Palace | Royal | News

There’s no doubt about it, family fall outs can happen to the very best of us.

One family which has had more than its fair share of arguments and disagreements over the last few years has been none other than The Firm.

Way back in October 2018, after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding earlier that year in May, ruptures in the Duchess of Sussex’s family were clear to see.

Meghan's estranged sister Samantha Markle was reportedly upset about claims their father Thomas Markle's health problems were reportedly faked and used as a reason for him not attending the union that was seen by millions across the globe.

But she later attempted to make amends with Meghan - and photos emerged showing Samantha handing an envelope to a guard outside Kensington Palace.

Ms Markle denied she was turned away and explained that she was extending “an olive branch” to her sister.

Speaking to DailyMailTV at the time she said: “I was very respectful and I went there to deliver a letter.

“Nobody was turned away, nobody was disrespectful and it was a wonderful experience.

“It was a nice experience and nobody was mean to me at all, I was quite surprised.”

She explained that while she could not say what she wrote exactly, she believed that she “accomplished” her goal and that “we’ll just have to wait and see how it is received”.

The Florida resident added: “I wanted to express some sentiments and set some records straight.

“I can’t give the details of that but I really wanted the world and really my sister and the British Royal family to know what happened and know the truth about a lot of things.”

She then addressed her sister Meghan directly and said: “Let’s just cut through all the cr*p, you’re a woman, life is short. I believe you have it in your heart to do the right thing here.

“You know dad loves you, you know he’s been there for you more than anyone, so don’t let this public monster and misperception that he’s like a sperm donor dad trying to be involved all of a sudden.

“You know that’s not true and so to let that happen, come on Meg, have a heart, I know you’re a woman, I know you have a heart in there.

“God, the Grinch grew a heart, albeit at the last minute. I’m not comparing you to the Grinch but I will say I know you have it in you to make this right.”

Last month it was revealed that Meghan could be forced to face her half-sister Samantha in court, as the 59-year-old's lawyers are preparing an attempt to overturn the verdict which saw Meghan emerge victorious.

In Meghan and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey the Duchess claimed she was principally raised as an only child, adding that Samantha only changed her surname back to Markle "when I started dating Harry".

Lawyers for Samantha argued in a civil lawsuit that these comments were "disparaging, hurtful, and false" and implied that Meghan's sister was "a stranger, a liar, and... [a] deceptive fame-seeking imposter with avaricious intentions".

Although the Duchess of Sussex won in court, Samantha has now taken the lawsuit to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeal, where her lawyers were given a July deadline for filing their initial brief.
