Chelsea star posts X-rated Instagram story to ‘wrong account’ before Wolves clash | Football | Sport

Noni Madueke produced a social media howler on the eve of Chelsea's Premier League clash against Wolves by sharing a not-so-glowing review of the West Midlands. The Blues winger's X-rated post late on Saturday night caused a stir among the fanbase ahead of the visit to Molineux.

Chelsea travel to the Black Country days after Enzo Maresca oversaw his first win as the club's head coach at Stamford Bridge on Thursday.

Christopher Nkunku's penalty and Madueke's strike from the bench sealed a 2-0 victory against Servette in the first leg of their Europa Conference League play-off.

But Chelsea are seeking their first Premier League win of the campaign after falling to a 2-0 home defeat to Manchester City on the opening weekend.

Wolves enter the clash having lost by the same scoreline in an equally difficult fixture against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

And ahead of the finely poised encounter, Madueke seemingly wasn't best pleased to be in Wolverhampton based on his social media activity.

Chelsea fans, with their finger on the pulse, noticed the 22-year-old had posted a late message on his Instagram story on Saturday night.

Accompanying a location widget confirming the Chelsea squad were in Wolverhampton, Madueke wrote: "Everything about this place is s**t."

He then quickly posted a follow-up, claiming that he had posted onto his wrong Instagram account rather than, likely, a private account for his family and friends.

"Damn wrong Instagram account... you lot are too fast [crying laughter, face palm]," the England U21 international added.

Madueke swiftly brushed over the gaffe by following that up with a matchday graphic previewing Chelsea's clash with Wolves.

The Blues No. 11 faces a fight for minutes this season due to Maresca's bloated attacking ranks, which became more crowded this week with the permanent £46million return of Joao Felix.

Madueke hasn't started either of the first two games this term, but his goal against Servette may earn him an opportunity at Molineux.

Maresca has affirmed that the young attacker is in his plans but has called for more consistency on the training pitch if he wants to secure a starting berth.

"I really like Noni. The only problem is that he has to understand that he has to be consistent during the week in training. He's a good player and he's doing well with us," Maresca said on Thursday.

He added: "The reality is until the window closes, anything can happen. But for sure, Noni is the kind of player that I like. We have so many games.

"If it's to today it will be the next one. He's doing well since he started with us. The only thing he has to improve is consistency. Every day, every day, work hard. Then he will get minutes for sure."
