Small town stabbing of young girl in street sees two people arrested | UK | NewsDetectives in Dorset are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward after a young girl was rushed to hosptial after being stabbed in Christchurch. Yesterday, August 20, at around 5.45pm Dorset Police received a report that a girl had sustained stab wounds at an address in Glider Close. Officers attended and a local man aged in his 20s from Christchurch has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. A local woman aged in her 50s has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They both remain in police custody. The girl suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening and she has been taken to hospital to receive treatment. Police are now urging the public to help with their investigation by reporting any relevant information. Chief Superintendent Stewart Dipple, of Dorset Police, said: “There is an increased policing presence in the area as officers conduct enquiries at the scene. I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened, or has information to assist our investigation, to please come forward. “Our enquiries are in the early stages and we would ask the public not to speculate at this time about the circumstances of the incident.
