Nigel Farage unmasked as highest-earning MP as eye-watering salary revealed | Politics | NewsNigel Farage earned more than £100k a month last year, which makes him the UK's highest earning MP without a shadow of a doubt. Including his appearances on GB News and custom videos he sends to fans on Cameo, he took more than 12 times the annual salary he receives as the MP for Clacton-on-Sea. The 60-year-old Brexiteer predicts that he spends around 24 hours - or three full working days a month - recording 40-second long clips for fans who pay up to £75 for happy birthday wishes or pep talks. In a breakdown of costs, it was revealed that on top of the nearly £98,000 a month he earned for his work on GB News, he also earned around £4,000 a month "writing articles" for Telegraph Media Group, and more than £16,000 for his Cameo appearances. Meanwhile, Nigel Farage was paid a whopping £1.5m when he appeared on I'm a Celeb towards the end of 2023. And it turned out to be a huge success after he came in third place behing TV personality Sam Thompson and former professional boxer Tony Bellew. Previously, he earned a whopping sum as a Member of the European Parliament from when he was first elected in 1999 until Britain's eventual withdrawal from the European Union in 2020. Currently, MEPs earn nearly £9,000 a month before taxes in 2024. Members of Parliament must declare any income over £100, or £300 from the same source in a year. Meanwhile newly-elected MPs have to declare all their relevant income for the last 12 months when they join the Commons. In fact, five MPs declared they'd been given free tickets to see Taylor Swift, including Keir Starmer, who declared the gift of four hospitality tickets to see the Blank Space singer at Wembley Stadium in June, tallying up to an estimated £4,000.
