76-year-old woman looks 25 years younger by eating same vegetable every day

With cloudy summer days like the ones we have seen recently, it is no wonder that Brits are opting for fake tans to achieve a bronze and glowy look.

Whether you're tanning outdoors or indoors, it can have harmful effects. Regardless of your skin type, tanning can cause DNA damage that may result in premature ageing and skin cancer.

A 76-year-old woman vows she looks 25 years young after she stopped using fake tanning methods. Taking to social media, the woman shared her go-to four natural remedies that make her "look younger than 50".

On Tiktok, under the username @Holistic.tips, she shared: "Stop using fake tans or tanning beds, your skin can become too dry eventually.

"Simply eating carrots every single day can increase the melanin in your skin, helping you be tan naturally."

According to the Cookist, for a healthy and glowing tan, it's crucial to eat foods rich in beta-carotene, a vitamin A that naturally boosts melanin production.

These foods include yellow, red or orange fruits and veggies like carrots, peppers, apricots, peaches, watermelon, melon, strawberries, and cherries.

Skincancer.org revealed that "most nonmelanoma skin cancers (NMSC) and a large percentage of melanomas are associated with exposure to UV rays from natural sunlight and/or indoor tanning.

Therefore not only does eating healthier fruits and vegetables instead of tanning decrease the appearance of ageing it also is crucial to avoid serious health conditions.

Not only does the 76-year-old eat carrots to look young but also suggests drinking one teaspoon of olive oil a day or eating five olives to erase any ageing spots and improve skin elasticity. She shared: "Olive oil is a great antioxidant which protects skin cells from being damaged."

Another suggestion was to "sleep in an ice-cold room" at 70 degrees or colder to boost your metabolism and help you lose fat whilst you sleep.

Lastly, she advised taking Nicotinamide riboside, a member of the vitamin B3 family that assists with anti-ageing, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, Alzheimer's disease, and obesity.

She shared: "This supplement increases the age-fighting cells in your body helping you feel and look younger. It's my favourite and I found it on Amazon."

If you're in the market to also purchase anti-ageing supplements, then you can find multiple options on Amazon such as these Swiss BioEnergetics Ultra High Purity NR for £26.97, down from £37.97 or for a cheaper alternative you can purchase 60 capsules for £13.99 from Nutri-things.

Reviewing this product, one happy customer shared: "Not only does it provide a sustainable energy boost throughout the day, but I've also noticed an improvement in my overall vitality and endurance. It's incredible how something so simple can have such a profound impact on my well-being.

"Plus, knowing that it supports NAD+ production, a crucial element for cellular health, gives me peace of mind. Highly recommend this supplement for anyone looking to optimize their energy levels and support their overall vitality!"

However, a less enthused shopper added: " There is a reasonable amount of evidence for the benefits of supplementing with NMN and I certainly haven't seen any adverse side effects after taking these. They are quite easy to swallow and seem pretty similar to other NMN capsules that I have previously tried. I do think these supplements are over hyped but some people and actual researchers do claim that they are very beneficial."

Alternatively, the UK's leading health and well-being site, Holland and Barrett is selling these Agewell 60 Capsules for £29.99 which contain Lycopene, Lutein, Zeaxanthin, Zinc, Thiamin and Vitamin C to support the key areas of health. Find out more here.
