Remove grime from oven doors with 'magic' cupboard staple - not vinegarFans of cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch have shared their go-to method for removing grease and grime from oven doors. Oven cleaning is a laborious task that can take hours due to the different components of the appliance that need to be cleaned. Oven racks, oven doors, oven trays, and the interior and exterior of the oven can all take hours to clean thoroughly. Oven doors, in particular, can become laden with grease and grime if they're not regularly cleaned. Rather than using harsh chemicals or calling in an expert, cleaning enthusiasts have shared a simple method to remove the unsightly debris - and you likely already have it in your cupboard. Anneka Hicks shared the revelation on the Facebook group, 'Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips'. She posted: "Oh. WOW. So, whilst I was waiting for the kettle to boil, I decided to see what all the fuss was about after seeing the tips on here about cleaning your oven door with a dishwasher tablet… and I am so astounded I might have to have a little lie-down! "Literally never going to be able to stop telling people about this hack. THANK YOU TO THIS GROUP!" Anneka shared a photo of the glass window in her oven door before using the hack and after. Before, the oven glass was covered in grease stains but afterwards it was completely clear. The post was inundated with 50 comments from fellow cleaning enthusiasts with some claiming they also used the method to clean their oven glass. Michelle Arnold said: "Magic isn't it?" While Kim Norman commented on the post: "Best hack ever! So quick and easy." To use this method on your oven glass, make sure your oven is switched off and put on a pair of gloves. You must use a pressed powder tablet rather than a gel pod when using this method. Dip the tablet in warm water until it's soaked up some of the water but is still a solid tablet, not crumbly. Then, holding the tablet between your thumb and forefinger, use circular motions to scrub it on the glass. If the tablet dries out, dip it in the water again. The chemicals in the tablet along with the abrasive powder should help remove food debris and grease. Once all the glass has been scrubbed, wipe it down using a damp cloth or a paper towel. All the grease, grime and food debris should come away. Morrisons Savers Lemon Dishwasher Tablets cost £1.99 for a pack of 40 which works out at just 5p per tablet. Asda All in 1 Dishwasher Tablets Original cost £4 for 40 and House 24/7 Dishwasher Tabs cost £1.49 for 30 from Sainsbury's. However, some Mrs Hinch fans recommended using different methods to remove grease and grime from oven glass. Cherie Catchpoles said: "This looks like a great tip. I used Flash spray bleach on mine recently which did a decent job too." Nicola Windmill replied: "Omg just no! So much work. Spray on Mr Muscle, leave for an hour and then wipe clean. Jobs a good 'un." Susan Roberts wrote: "I just use a Brillo pad. Works brilliantly." Source link Posted: 2024-08-02 18:12:36 |
