Overlooking the isle of Arran and just 45 minutes from Glasgow Central Station, Troon in Scotland is a small sea port town located in South Aryshire.
However, despite the town being under an hour’s drive away from Glasgow city centre, the little UK seaside retreat has plenty to offer. Being home to two beautiful beaches, which include Brassie Beach and Troon Beach (also known as South Beach), with both beaches made famous for their golden and sandy nature, making them a relaxing escape from the busy city.
Visitors can admire coastal views from the promenade, which stretches across the harbour to the sandy beaches providing benches, picnic areas and cafes along the way.
If that doesn’t sound charming enough, Troon is also home to The Wee Hurrie, a local chippy which has been described as having the “best fish and chips”.
The chippy is located by Troon Harbour on Harbour Road, where customers can enjoy a scenic view overlooking the harbour as well as local wildlife such as seals whilst waiting for their order.

The user explained how the restaurant had “Excellent prawns and scampi. Very fresh and well cooked. Good to know it's maintained quality food. Glad we returned and will come back!"
