Manchester United will travel to League Two club Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup second round after the draw took place on Wednesday night. The Red Devils join 10 other Premier League clubs entering the competition at this stage due to their lack of European involvement this season.
Ruben Amorim's side will start their Carabao Cup journey at Blundell Park as they set out on what is their best chance for silverware this season. United and Grimsby have not faced off since 1948, with the former failing to beat the latter in their last three meetings. The six-time winners have not won at Blundell Park since as far back as 1906.
The Carabao Cup second round draw was split into Northern and Southern Sections, as is customary until the third round, when the rest of the Premier League clubs enter.
The Southern Section threw up two top-flight ties, with AFC Bournemouth hosting Brentford and West Ham United travelling to Wolves. Fulham host Bristol City while Brighton and Hove Albion visit Oxford United.
In the Northern Section, Burnley welcome Derby County, Sunderland will face Huddersfield Town or Leicester City, and Leeds United will travel to Bolton Wanderers or Sheffield Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Mansfield Town have the opportunity to feature in the first cup tie at Everton's new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Wrexham could have earned an attractive Premier League clash, but have been pitted against Championship rivals Preston North End.
