Dominic Calvert-Lewin has taken transfer matters into his own hands this summer, as the ex-Everton striker has reportedly sacked his agent. Calvert-Lewin left Everton following the expiration of his contract and has been linked to several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United.

Having originally joined in 2016, Calvert-Lewin enjoyed a strong nine-year stint with the Toffees, scoring 71 goals in 273 appearances. Injuries have plagued the Englishman's career so far, but Calvert-Lewin now has his eyes fixed on a fresh start after leaving Goodison Park behind.

According to The Sun, Calvert-Lewin was left disgruntled by his representatives and has therefore ditched the agency that was looking after his transfer business. Following his Everton departure, Calvert-Lewin was believed to be confident about landing on his feet at a Premier League outfit.

However, the 28-year-old remains unattached just days before the 2025/25 Premier League campaign is scheduled to get underway. Calvert-Lewin is still believed to have options in the top-flight, but a move to United is likely to be off the cards for now, given the Red Devils' striker situation.

Rewind just a couple of years, and Calvert-Lewin was being touted as a potential United signing, with a valuation of £50million being banded about. A move to the 20-time champions didn't transpire, and while there has been tentative talk about the Premier League giant reigniting their interest, it's unlikely to happen while Benjamin Sesko, Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund are on United's books.

Following the arrival of Sesko for £74m, there has been increased talk that United could be willing to let Hojlund leave this summer. Should the Dane depart, it could open the door to a United move for Calvert-Lewin, but the likelihood is he'll have to look elsewhere.

Aston Villa have been mentioned as a potential suitor, with the Europa League outfit keen to add cover for starting striker Ollie Watkins. Whereas, both North East outfits, Sunderland and Newcastle, are believed to hold interest in the forward, who has made 11 caps for the England national team.

Calvert-Lewin left Everton on the back of a disappointing three-goal campaign, with the attacker missing a large chunk of the season because of a hamstring injury. As Calvert-Lewin is a free agent, he'll be able to sign for clubs after the September 1 transfer deadline, but will only be able to be registered mid-season if there's space in a club's squad.
