The new Battlefield game certainly looks the part, impressing fans with the recently released reveal trailer, followed by an action-packed multiplayer gameplay trailer that was full of destruction.
Of course, looks can be deceiving, which is why fans are keen to get some hands-on time with Battlefield 6 before it launches on October 10.
The good news is that first-person shooter enthusiasts can play the game this weekend as part of the Battlefield 6 open beta for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. This will show us whether Battlefield 6 can compete with Call of Duty, which has been the dominant FPS franchise for the past few years.
And if you can't wait that long, there's also an early access beta period for players who want to spend even longer sampling the new Battlefield.
The Battlefield 6 early access beta has an August 7 release date and a 9am BST UK release time.
While the upcoming open beta is available to everybody, no strings attached, the August 7 early access beta has some limitations.
Fans who signed up to Battlefield Labs before July 31 can play the early access beta without a code. Likewise, anybody who watched select creators during the reveal streams on July 31 should have received early access clearance.
If you missed out on the above, then the good news is that you can also get early access to the Battlefield 6 beta by signing up for an EA Play Pro subscription.
"If you are an EA Play Pro subscriber, you don't need a code. Just log in with the EA account associated with your subscription," EA explains.
EA Play Pro is available for PC via the EA Play app. Pro subscribers get various rewards, including access to Premium Edition games, in-game rewards and early access. It costs £16.99 a month.
Finally, early access will be awarded to fans who watch 30 minutes of Battlefield 6 Twitch streams from various content creators over August 7 and August 8.
"Missed your chance at the Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Reveal for Early Access codes? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!" EA explains.
"Watch 30 minutes of any creator streaming Battlefield 6 on Twitch during August 7-8 to unlock Open Beta Early Access. Instructions on redeeming codes."
If you miss the early access period, the Battlefield 6 open beta takes place between August 9 and August 10. A second beta weekend takes place from August 14 until August 17.
In terms of what fans can expect, the Battlefield 6 beta will feature a variety of different maps and game modes.
Weekend one features three maps, including Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak and Iberian Offensive.
You'll be able to play the aforementioned maps in game modes such as Conquest, Closed Weapon Conquest, Breakthrough, Domination and King of The Hill.
The second weekend adds the Empire State map, as well as additional game modes including Rush, Squad Deathmatch and Closed Weapon Breakthrough.
To ensure you don't miss a second of the action, you can pre-load the Battlefield 6 beta now. It's also worth noting that you'll need to link your EA account to your platform account, while PC users will be required to enable Secure Boot.
