Thousands of users are facing issues with PayPal and Visa, with many unable to complete payments or access their accounts.

According to Downdetector, problems began just before 14:00 BST and appear to be affecting people around the world. Most complaints relate to failed transactions and issues logging in.

PayPal has confirmed the disruption is affecting Retail Checkout and Braintree, its payment processing service.

Visa users are also reporting problems. At least 231 incidents have been logged on Downdetector, with 84% related to debit cards and the rest involving credit cards.
