A home cook shared her bizarre method of creating strawberry bread - which involves pouring a fizzy drink into a bowl of flour. That's the process recommended by Laura Nightingale, who explained how it's done on TikTok.

"I bet you've never poured a can of lemonade into a bowl of strawberries and flour," she exclaimed in a video. The simple recipe saw Laura adding the flour to her bowl first, followed by the drink and then the fruit, before mixing until the ingredients became dough-like texture.

"This recipe is so quick, it's easy to make and it tastes so good," she enthused. Laura also suggested the bread makes the perfect breakfast or snack.

She completed the process by placing the mixture in the airfryer. Another TikTok user offered further advice in response, suggesting others use 75g self raising flour, 50g lemonade and a handful of chopped strawberries - cooked at 200C in the airfryer for 10 minutes or 20 minutes in the oven.

One person shared another recommendation in response, penning: "Hear me out, use diet/regular cream soda instead of lemonade for an even tastier treat." While a second gushed: "I’m doing this with lemon Fanta and blueberries."

Laura has also applied her unique process to make lemonade carrot cake, meanwhile. She began by explaining that "no eggs, milk, butter or oil" is needed.

Instead, she poured carrot cake mix into a bowl followed by lemonade and shredded carrot. Again, after stirring into a dough, she placed the mixture into two baking dishes before cooking in the oven.

Once cooked, Laura closed by applying butter cream in between the two layers of cake, and adding another generous amount on top. "Does it need the filling?" asked one of her intrigued followers.

To which Laura replied: "I think it tastes better with buttercream/frosting, but then again anything does."

A second TikTok user praised the concept: "Oh wow thanks. I have a mix in the cupboard so will try." A third concurred, adding: "My second favourite cake, absolutely lush, gotta try this one."

To make chocolate bread, Laura suggests using cola rather than lemonade and following the same technique.
